Kingstonian 4-2 Hendon
Kingstonian overcame FA Cup conquerers Hendon to progress in the FA Trophy, following a four-two win at Kingsmeadow.

Bobby Traynor opened the scoring in the 9th minute before a goal-packed second half. Matt Gray doubled the advantage five minutes after the break, whilst Carl Wilson-Denis made it three strikes from close range in the 56th minute.

Substitute Lubomir Guentchev pulled one back for the visitors with ten minutes remaining, though K's sub Christian Jolley restored the three goal cushion in stoppage time. Hendon found time for a second goal - this time from James Bent - though no more.

Ashlee Jones
Goalkeeper Ashlee Jones has signed for League Two club Darlington.

Manager Alan Dowson comments, "We know there have been clubs looking at Ashlee but it's still a shot out of the blue. It's a chance for him to move into the Football League and we're not going to stand in his way.

Whilst it's a shame to lose Ashlee it'll be good to get Luke Garrard back in. Luke's got experience and consistency so the shirt is back in his hands, though we'll obviously have to bring in another goalkeeper to challenge him and have already put in an approach for a target."

Kingstonian Vets
The club are proud to launch a newly-formed Kingstonian Vets team, featuring a number of Isthmian League and FA Trophy winning stars, which will be taking to the field for competition following a successful Legends match against Woking in the summer.

The team will participate in the Isthmian League's Veterans Cup, and have been drawn to enter in the second round away to Metropolitan Police or Northwood in a game to be played by the end of November.

The team will comprise of K's players from 1987 to 2004 - a period during which the club was crowned Isthmian League champions in 1997/98, won back-to-back FA Trophy titles at Wembley Stadium, and reached the FA Cup 4th Round Proper in 2001. Further details will be announced when the opening fixture is confirmed.

Kingstonian 1-2 Hastings United
A Hastings team missing a recognised goalkeeper for 64 minutes came from behind to take all three points and go third in the table at the expense of Kingstonian.

Bobby Traynor opened the scoring for the K's from the penalty spot, having been brought down by visiting goalkeeper Greg Nessling - who saw red for the offence. Traynor headed against the post soon after but the tide turned as the visitors took an increasing foothold in the game, levelling through Ade Olorunda five minutes before half time.

The numbers were levelled in the second half when Simon Huckle was dismissed for a late foul. Hastings' makeshift goalkeeper Sam Adams meanwhile remained a spectator for the whole second half, and his team grabbed all the points following a close range effort from Olorunda in the 81st minute.

Full details of the match are now available.

Kingstonian 4-0 Beckenham Town
Kingstonian coasted past Beckenham Town with a four-nil win in the Surrey Cup, to set up a home tie with Crystal Palace in the next round.

Carl Wilson-Denis struck twice in the first half, in the 23rd and 38th minutes, before completing his hat-trick in the 74th minute. Joel Ledgister completed the scoring with a fourth a couple of minutes before the end.

Manager Alan Dowson commented after the game, "The priority is to get through, btu it was good to do so by that margin. Carl richly deserved his hat-trick whilst it was nice to be able to give the two talented youngsters their first run out. I was a bit worried when Ali (Dewar) lost his boot as I wasn't sure if he could do his laces up, and it looked like his mum was going to run on to help him for a moment!"

    Golf Day roundup
Thank you to everyone who took part in the Kingstonian Golf Day in the delightful surroundings of Hampton Court Palace last week.

K's joint chairman Malcolm Winwright's injury forced him out of action as he needed to be fit for his golfing break in Portugal this week! A special mention must be made to Supporters Club representative Annette Boddy who caddied through the 18 holes for Tony Rabbetts and she managed to raise a few bob whilst doing it.

To the winners then and congratulations to local referee and former footballer Gary Dodd who played superb golf to win the individual event with a staggering 40 points; runner up was Marc Edwards on 36 points who edged out Molesey's Paul Cross.

The team event went to joint Merstham chairman Chris Woolston's foursome (who totally over 120 points). Paul Cross took the longest drive award sponsored by former Carshalton boss Hayden Bird while G Bristow took the plaudits for nearest the pin at the 8th.

And finally the award for "it's been one of those days" went to Gerry "The Dancemaster" Petit for his constant conversations with the trees on the course. All done with a smile of course!

The next golf event will take place in early March 2010.

    Adam Thompson
Defender Adam Thompson has joined Merstham on a one month loan deal.

Manager Alan Dowson comments, "We've been able to get Adam treated quicker than expected with a non-invasive procedure that avoided surgery, so he's got the all clear to return to full action now. He's consistently been one of my best players so I can't wait to get him back, but he missed all of the summer and also the start of the season so we need to get him match fit again."

    Performance of the month
Kingstonian have been awarded the Team Performances of the Month, sponsored by Vandanel, which in this instance reflects upon the great upturn in the team's fortunes during September as a whole.

Manager Alan Dowson comments, "We had to make changes to pick things up after the first few games, and whilst we've just had a couple of injury time disappointments, have been doing much better. Well done to all the players for their work which has been recognised by this award, but we're obviously playing the long game and this is just the beginning of a long season so there's plenty left to do."
