Yeovil bid for Patterson
The Western Gazette has reported that Yeovil have made a 40,000 bid for K's Gary Patterson. Chris Kelly's response was: "As far as I know there is no truth in this, the only truth being that if a bid of 40k was tabled it would certainly be turned down".

Monday 27th December 1999
Woking 1-1 Kingstonian
A superb second half equaliser from Geoff Pitcher gained K's a well earned point at Kingfield, after Perkins had given Woking the lead.

Result round-up
K's have now dropped to sixth place in the table, as Dover extended their recent good run with a 2-1 win at home to Welling. There were losses for Yeovil (3-0 at Hayes) and Nuneaton (1-0 at home to Kettering) as the top few continued their poor form. Rushden though, beat Stevenage 2-1 to go top once again.

Last night's Supporters Club Christmas party
Several players attended last night's Supporters Club Christmas party, as did quite a few supporters. In the raffle Chris Kelly won a prize, but was surpassed by Robert Woolfson who won two cuddly toys. Lucky him.

Luckett and Taylor out
Geoff Chapple told us (whilst devouring several sandwiches) that only Colin Luckett (who will almost certainly require an operation on his stomach) and Robin Taylor are out of Monday's game with Woking.

Hereford out of the cup
Hereford were the last non-leaguers in this years FA Cup, until a goal deep into injury time gave Leicester a 2-1 victory last night. They were "brave" and we were all "proud".

K's videos for ?16
We've been informed that Andy Eggleton and Peter Langhorn are selling K's videos for 16 all K's matches this season. Apparently the Hednesford classic has almost sold out, so you'd best get your orders in quickly..... Thanks to Mark Langhorn for letting us know.

The internet and the way forward
A meeting was held yesterday evening at Kingsmeadow to discuss the internet and the way forward. The outcome basically was that the club is fully prepared to try and improve their communication with ourselves so that we know more of what is happening at the club. We are very grateful to Chris Kelly for this, and also to Colin Deadman for arranging the meeting.

Saturday 18th December 1999
Kingstonian 0-2 Hednesford Town
Yet another loss, and again with no goals - the fourth straight such league match. Joe O'Connor played (in gloves) and hit the bar, but that was as good as it got.

[top of the page]
Result round-up
Luckily, the top Conference teams all seem to be in bad form of late - today Morecambe, Stevenage and Yeovil all lost, while Rushden could only draw. All of this means that K's drop to just fifth place, but the less said about the form guide the better...

Colin Luckett's stomach - an update
Colin Luckett is still to have his stomach scan, becuase of "some problems" with his medical form. If the scan shows that he only needs physio he should be back in 3-5 weeks, but if an operation is needed it will be more like 6-8.

Notice to all Supporters

The Football club would like to inform all supporters that with the new Development work scheduled to start in mid january, new systems for entry to the ground will need to be implemented. Starting with the home game against WOKING on the 2nd January, the Bar Areas will only be available to persons actually attending the Match.

Persons arriving early, who wish to use the Members bar MUST PURCHASE their ticket from the centre kiosk to gain access to the bar. Seat and Terrace tickets will be available to supporters from this kiosk. Persons holding Season Tickets,Patrons Tickets or Complimentary tickets must show these to the Steward on the entrance to the Bar, to gain admission.

Entrance to the stadium will remain as at present, those with tickets for the seated stand will pass through the centre turnstile, Terrace entrance will be at the turnstiles at the Kingston Road end of the ground only.

There will be disruptions to the seating in the main stand for the duration of the work, but the club will ensure that all season ticket holders are reserved an alternative seat whilst the work is in progress.

We apologise for any inconvienence this may cause but trust that you will understand the need for these measures.

Portfield 0-8 Kingstonian
The following details are from Ollie - one third of K's travelling support in Portfield, where K's won last night's friendly 8-0. The team was as follows:

Farrelly (Hurst 45), Bryson (Lester 45), Basford (Patterson 45), Crossley (Stewart 45), Allan, Harris (Kadi 45), Brown, Pitcher (Wingfield 45), O'Connor, Drewett (Leworthy 45), Akuamoah (M'boto 63)

Pitcher scored an outstanding first goal, curled round the 'keeper into the top right corner, and added a 2nd before half time. In the 2nd period, Portfield crumbled. Leworthy set up Joe O'Connor for his first goal in the red and white of K's before, three minutes later, Wingers set Joe up for his 2nd. Wingfield then made and completed a goal for himself, despite the Portfield number 15 blowing a rasberry at him. Wingers added another before Junior Kadi made it seven. Leworthy got the last goal giving K's a deserved 8-0 victory.

Chapple said he was impressed with Joe O'Connor (as were the three travelling K's fans) which hopefully means he will be signed permanently.

Surrey Senior Cup update
Just to confirm that the Surrey Senior Cup game is against Croydon Athletic, whom K's beat convincingly 2-1 in an FA Cup 2nd round qualifier back in 1994. Phil Wingfield scored the winner - is this an omen?

Two new fixtures arranged
Two items of news from Ollie: K's have drawn Croydon in the Surrey Senior Cup - this game has to be played by the end of January. And another game has been arranged against Polish stars Widzew Lodz - who beat K's 3-1 in a friendly earlier this year - for this coming February 22nd. This game is supposedly going to be "huge" as somebody Polish is going to promote it.

Saturday 11th December 1999
Result round-up
Although not playing, it was a good day for K's in the Conference as Nuneaton lost 3-1 to Northwich and Kidderminster and Morecambe could only draw. K's remain fourth in the table.

Ryman League 1-3 FA XI
Unlikely though it may seem, Phil WIngfield played a starring role as a second half substitute for the FA XI as they beat their Ryman League counterparts 3-1. Steve Farrelly, Matt Crossley and Gary Patterson all started, with Farrelly making two very good saves. At half time Crossley and Farrelly were replaced, but Eddie Akuamoah and Wingfield came off the bench.

Within just a few minutes, Eddie had put the FA level with a superb volley, then later Wingfield hit the post, then set up the 2nd FA goal for Yeovil's Warren Patmore. Woking's Steve West scored the third. Huge thanks to Ollie for this brief report - a more detailed (though Yeovil-biased!) report is available from Ciderspace.

Saturday 4th December 1999
Kidderminster Harriers 2-0 Kingstonian
K's four centre-halves couldn't prevent a continuation of the terrible run, as the tean slipped to a two goal defeat at Aggborough. Geoff Pitcher and Colin Luckett both missed out due to injury (tonsilitis and a stomach strain respectively) and were replaced by Gerard Little - a Peterborough Northern Ireland Under-21 international - and Kenny Brown - ex-West Ham. Gary Patterson was sent off for receiving two yellow cards.

No fixture currently planned for next weekend
It is still not clear who K's will face next weekend, if anybody. Supposedly, Yeovil are desperate to play K's as they are in dire need of a home gate yet Chapple doesn't want to go to Huish with so many injuries. Another possibility is that the home game with Woking in the MacMillan Trophy will be brought forward, although this may just be a vicious rumour. We will keep you posted.
