Kingstonian 1-1 Worthing |
Despite playing almost all of the first half with no recognised goalkeeper, Kingstonian took a point against Worthing on day of many strange results in the league.
Injury to goalkeeper Nick Hart and plans to get Alan Hughes match practice for someone in another league left the K's without a goalkeeper at the start and so Phil Ruggles took the gloves against his former club.
Worthing were unable to score more than a single 19th minute goal by Nko Ekoku against Ruggles before Hughes' arrival (in place of James Rose) saw reverted-striker Ruggles score a header with his first touch as an outfielder on the stroke of half time.
A tighter second half saw the visitors denied a stunning set piece goal - struck straight from an indirect free kick - whilst Martyn Lee and Dave Timothy went close for K's.

Statement from AFC Wimbledon |
From the AFC Wimbledon website:
Statement on the AFC Wimbledon v Kingstonian match
As you may be aware, there has been some publicity about a possible protest by Kingstonian fans before and during our Surrey Senior Cup game on Tuesday 18 January, aimed at the Chairman of Kingstonian FC, Mr Rajesh Khosla.
We have spoken to some of those likely to be involved in any protest to establish their plans and to make the following points:
1) We acknowledge and support the right of football supporters to engage in peaceful protest at football matches. Our paramount concern must be the safety of spectators and we will take whatever steps are necessary to secure this.
2) We are very happy for a collection to be taken in support of the Ks Trust
3) We cannot grant access to the game to supporters on the basis of a contribution to a collection. This would be a breach of our responsibilities under the Surrey FA
4) We will, however, be implementing our normal policy for access to the ground before and during the game, including at half-time
We also explained our ground regulations and said that we will apply them, in particular in respect of any intrusion onto the pitch area, which is completely unacceptable.
We have had a number of enquiries about how the proceeds of the game are divided. Briefly, the net proceeds (i.e. the gate money, less VAT, match officials expenses, policing and stewarding costs, etc) are divided equally between the teams. However, all other profits are AFC Wimbledons, as normal
Tuesdays match will kick off at 7:45 pm. Terrace admission will be ?6 for adults, ?3 for concessions and ?2 for under-16s. Main stand prices will be ?8, ?4 and ?3 respectively. An 8-page programme will be on sale, priced at 50p. |

Dover Athletic 1-2 Kingstonian |
A thrilling contest between the bottom two sides saw Kingstonian come out on top against Dover at the Crabble.
Having just had a similar effort disallowed, Kenny Ojukwa bundled home a corner in the 24th minute to put K's ahead in an action packed first half before Giles Coke doubled the advantage with a fierce drive just before the hour mark.
Ojukwa was spectacularly denied the opportunity to score a K's third by veteran goalkeeper Paul Hyde before Dover pulled a goal back to make for a nervy final quarter of an hour but K's held strong for a morale-boosting victory.

Phil Ruggles was denied from the penalty spot in the second half following a foul on Giles Coke, when Jamie Turner made an excellent save low to his right.
