Phil Ledger RIP |
The club is saddened to hear of the passing of Woking FC Life President Phil Ledger last night. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
A highly respected figure, Phil was well known to a number of people at the K's, having served in a in a number of different roles at Woking since his playing days in the 1950's. Further details can be found on the Woking website.
Kingstonian coach Martin Tyler remembers Phil fondly, "I knew Phil for most of my life, first as a Woking player and then his return behind the scenes in 1967, from where he became 'Mr Woking'. He represented that club with integrity and humour, and was always on hand 24/7 - almost before that expression was even invented.
I went to watch Woking for the first time in a while on New Year's Day and very unusually he wasn't there. Phil was a fighter but we knew then he wasn't well and this is a true loss for not just Woking but the wider football community. He represented the best in football and I will miss him enormously." |

Kids for free at every game |
Kingstonian Football Club is pleased to launch its biggest youth promotion to date - free admissions for youngsters to every home game until the end of the season when accompanied by an adult.
The board feels that with the team looking forward to a potentially exciting second half of the campaign the time is right to explore avenues of both trying to increase gates and create appeal to the younger people in the community.
This promotion is part of a wider initiative to cater towards local youngsters. Kingstonian is committed to developing youth football throughout the Borough and the youth section is accredited as an FA Charter Standard Development Club.
The club also wishes to increase public awareness over the coming weeks and welcome all realistic thoughts in that direction which should be emailed to marketing@kingstonian.net |

Midfielder Lewis Cook has left the club to join Harrow Borough. Lewis made 18 appearances since joining in the summer.

Update from Alan Dowson |
Manager Alan Dowson comments, "The weather's been really tough for everyone but we're a committed bunch and that's not going to put us off. Credit to the lads, who've been in for every training slot over the past couple of weeks, as we've worked them hard in a variety of sessions. We can't wait to get back playing again and this will hopefully put us in a good position. I must mention a big thank you in particular to Keith Lyons at Hinchley Wood School for his continued support.
"So it's been business as usual for us. We've had a couple come back from loan and a couple go out on loan, and are also always looking to see if there's a player or two out there who can give us something extra. I don't like to talk about player approaches but Tooting went public with our seven-dayer for Paul Vines, whilst we didn't when they came in for Dean Lodge a while back. Either way, both players chose to stay at their respective clubs so that's that.
"We'll be having some more socials to try and keep the community spirit and raise a bit of money too, so check back for more details as your support is most appreciated. We're looking to stop off at the Symonds Well in Epsom for the Horsham game as it's on route and they deserve a better turnout than last time. We'll also be having a do at the Maverick in Chessington which is Jamie Street's local, to celebrate his upcoming marriage. Jamie has been at K's in one role or another since the beginning of the time so we need to get a move on and get him hitched! Finally, we're planning on having a testimonial for Jon Coke at the end of the season to mark his completion of five seasons continuous service at the club. Cokey was a model player and such loyalty should be rewarded."

Luke Garrard and Lewis Cook |
Goalkeeper Luke Garrard and midfielder Lewis Cook have gone out on one month loan deals to Met Police and St Neots Town respectively.
Manager Alan Dowson comments, "Luke has been the number one for three of four seasons and is an important player and club captain. He has been out for a few weeks though and Rob (Tolfrey) currently has the shirt so it's a chance to get him playing again. Lewis has good pedigree and there's more to see of him but we need to get him match sharp in the meantime and St Neots are an ambitious club who are doing well at the moment." |
Update from Alan Dowson |
