Kingstonian Vets 7-2 Burgess Hill Town Vets
Kingstonian booked their place final of the Isthmian Veterans Cup following their second seven-two win of the season, this time against Burgess Hill Town.
Tony Reid got the K's off to a bright start, with goals in the 4th and 14th minutes. However, a Chris Dicker free kick brought the visitors back into the game on the half hour mark. Andre Forrester and his opposite number in goal were called into action as the half concluded without any further goals.
The interval came at a good time for the Hillians as they came out and equalised almost immediately through substitute Ryan Gayler. Spurred into action, the response from the K's was rapid and decisive. The following move saw Phil Wingfield restore the lead, and a couple of minutes on and Tony Reid completed his hat trick to make it four-two. Conrad Kane drilled home a fifth just after the hour mark, followed by further goals from player-manager Eddie Akuamoah and Steve Darlington.
Thank you to everyone who supported the team - both in advance and on the evening - the attendance based on tickets sold was a season high for the competition of 75. The Golden Goal prize of £20 was won by Bradley Livesey, holder of ticket number 4.
