Goalkeeper. Began his career with Knowsley United before earning a chance of League soccer with Chester City. He was unable to break into the first team, and returned to Knowsley for a second spell. Other clubs include Rotherham, Scunthorpe United and Macclesfield. He signed for K's from Barrow amidst dubious circumstances over contract arrangements, and when was offered the chance to leave he gladly took it. In season '97-'98 he held the record for the least amount of goals let in by a regular 'keeper in the non-league pyramid whilst playing in the promoted Barrow team. Steve has won several England semi-professional caps.
