A former Kingstonian centre forward, Kim joined the club in a coaching role from Walton & Hersham. Involved in a youth set-up producing the likes of Nathan Ellington and Gavin Holligan, he brought a number of talented young players with him to Ks in his initial role as reserve team manager. Promoted to the role of Steve Sedgleys assistant in 2001, a year later Kim succeeded him in the role of team manager.
