Kingstonian 2-4 Cray Wanderers
SIX-GOAL FEST THRILLS ON CHILLY NIGHT

Kingstonian discovered their scoring boots by putting four into the back of the net - and still lost.

With both Simon Sobihy and Jamie Jarvis finding the back of the wrong net in the first half it meant that the Ks dismal run continues with their fifth straight loss.

Both the visitors and home side's defences looked decidedly weak from the outset and so proved in this six-goal fest.

Adolph Amoako started the game off brightly with the first goal as a corner in from the left was not dealt with after only three minutes.

And this lead lasted for just over 16 minutes before the first of two own goals changed the face of the game.

First new boy Sobihy forced the ball past Luke Garrard after Cray's Andy Martin's shot came off Julian Sills.

Then nine minutes later another scramble in the box from a corner found Jarvis who put it past the keeper. And it could have been worse as six minutes earlier his back header had almost beaten Garrard.

The half then quietened down as the few wanders into the Cray's half ended in nothing.

The second half began brightly with the opponents facing the wind and almost scoring from the whistle.

Within minutes Alan Dowson had had enough and Martyn Lee was bought on and Steve Symes taken off. This began to have an effect as Kingstonian began to press forward a bit more but then on he break Lewis Wood doubled the advantage after being fed by Jamie Kempster.

Two minutes later this was down to one as Jarvis latched onto a free kick and scored his second goal of the match - this time at the right end.

And with Kingstonian sensing a possible point as the clock ticked down, Crays once more hit back on the break with Wood scoring his second goal. This time it was a lob.

In a game of poor defences goals were always there to be had, and this time Kingstonian were hungry for them. It is just a pity that handing opponents two goals before half time meant they had to chase a game for the winning.
