Kingstonian 4-0 Beckenham Town
BECKENHAM GOAL SUFFERS THE BLUES

Joel Legister scored his opening goal for Kingstonian to wrap up a comprehensive win in the Surrey Senior Cup, after a hat-trick from Carl Wilson-Denis secured the tie.

The ex-Woking player made a rare start and repaid the faith in him with a low shot after an accurate pass from Mo Harkin sliced through the defence of opponents Kent side Beckenham Town with minutes to go in the tie.

The side, two steps in the non-league pyramid below the home side, had already been swept aside as Wilson-Denis scored three times with goals in the 23rd, 38th and 74th minutes.

After a drab single-goal victory in the FA Trophy two days before, Ks needed to ignite the small crowd and this they did from the start. Harkin was denied in the seventh minute when his shot was deflected to the keeper Nick Blue. Piling on the pressure, it was until the quarter hour when Karl Beckford broke through the defence and his low-ish shot was saved well by Blue. A minute later Legister shot high and to the right.

However Wilson-Denis finally made the breakthrough, when he latched onto a Beckford through ball and shot the ball past Blue.

On the half hour Matthew Howard for Beckenham saw his shot go wide from Danny Lawson's free kick. A late leg placing the ball wide. However the action returned back to the other side and within minutes Ks were two goals up as once again Beckford split the defence up with a through ball to Wilson-Denis. From 15 yards the ball found space below Blue as he dived to save it.

A corner from the visitors then saw Ibrahim Fusini two minutes later shoot into the near side netting after he paid a one-two with Charlie Hearn. Their pressure then continued into the second half with Nick Curran, the skipper, chesting the ball down but Ashlee Jones was equal to the task as he pushed the ball around for a corner.

And that was as good as it got for the minnows, with Lewis Cook shooting low to the left of the near post within minutes as Ks reasserted their superiority. Then Beckford tried for goal from 15 yards out, but Blue was able to save.

Wilson-Denis third goal did come when once again Beckford combined with Wilson-Denis in the 74th minute. His powerful shot finding the back of the net. A series of substitutions on both sides, saw Wilson-Denis leave as youngster Ali Dewar came on. However Ks were not done, and Beckford once again tried his luck with four minutes to go and was on target but Blue was equal to the task again.

However two minutes later Blue could only pick the ball out of his own net, when Legister beat him. Kingstonian now face a home tie with Crystal Palace in the next round.
