Sutton United 2-0 Kingstonian

Kingstonian have proved a continual thorn in Sutton United's side in recent months, but this run came to an end with a comfortable win for Paul Doswell's side. The game featured few chances at either end, but most of those that were created fell to the home side, and Rob Tolfrey struggled to deal with two first half long shots from Darren Ebsworth, meaning that Sutton were able to cruise through the second half to an easy win.

Tolfrey did well to save an early Andy Forbes header, before Ks missed their best of the game. Tobi Jinadu had a free header from a Matt Gray corner, but failed to hit the target when he should have given Ks a goal against the run of play. His side were soon made to pay on 23 minutes, when Ebsworth's thirty yard drive powered into the bottom corner, despite Tolfrey getting a hand to it.

A Bradley Woods-Garness cross shaved Tolfrey's bar before the Us doubled their advantage just before half time. After Sutton had knocked the ball around the Ks half at will, Tolfrey was only able to parry an Ebsworth drive into the path of Craig Dundas, who slid in ahead of Tom Bird to bundle the ball into the empty net.

The home side continued to look more dangerous after the break, but Forbes fired wide and Dundas was denied a penalty shout after going down under contact from Adam Thompson. Substitute Fola Orilonishe should have wrapped the game up following a Thompson error, but Tolfrey came off his line well to save the one-on-one.

Tom Bolarinwa headed a Bird cross wide as Ks got a rare sight of Kevin Scriven's goal but the home side remained the more dangerous, with Tolfrey doing well to hang on to a Richard Jolly shot and Orilonishe missing the target after a late counter-attack. Ks were left to regroup, with Alan Dowson changing his side extensively for the next game, while Sutton looked every inch champions in waiting.
