In memory of George Puckett
It was with much sadness to report that life-long supporter George Puckett passed away on Friday 5th August. Mr Puckett, aged 92, first watched the K's at the 1933 FA Amateur Cup semi-final at Upton Park and every season since. His funeral was attended by supporters and club officials and our thoughts are with his family at this time. There will be a minute's silence before the Newport game as a mark of respect.

Weekend fundraising success
Butch Shakespeare would like to thank everyone who attended and participated in the Kingstonian fundraising events over the weekend on behalf of the club.

Friday's race night - the first major fundraising event of the season - attracted 75 attendees and raised £843. Another race night is planned for November and it is hoped that the event will continue to grow.

Sunday's cricket match between supporters and youth at Ditton Rec was played in a relaxed and lighthearted atmosphere. The Youth won with 131 runs off 20 overs, compared to 111 runs off 20 overs for the Supporters. The day was rounded off with a BBQ and raffle at the Plough & Harrow. The day was most enjoyable and raised just over £100.

The club needs all the support it can get and it is hoped that with a series of fundraising activities throughout the season this can be encouraged, whilst adding to the social side for supporters at the same time.

FA Structural Review conclusions
Lord Burns was asked to conduct a six month review of English football's governing body by the government at the end of 2004, following a year of controversy for the Football Association, and believes his proposals for their restructuring will produce a stronger, more open and better-respected organisation.

Key problems tackled included potential conflicts of interests among FA board members, an unrepresentative council, lack of confidence in the disciplinary process, too much power being wielded by the Premier League and a lack of representation for the grassroots game.

Details of the report can be found on the FA website here.
