Hampton & Richmond Borough 2-1 Kingstonian

The home side took an early lead in the second half with their first strike on goal before doubling their advantage midway through the half. K's pulled back what turned out to be little more than a consolation with a crisp strike from substitute Scott Steele.

Out of administration
From the Surrey Comet:

CLUB GETS NEW LEASE OF LIFE

It took almost two years, but Kingstonian finally came out of administration last week, writes Mike Simmonds.

The clubs administrators Begbies Traynors, who were called in in October 2001, have applied to leave, much to the delight of club secretary Graham Richards.

"We have finally satisfied the CVA," he said.

"We have liquidated the old company, Kingstonian Football Club Limited, and the football membership has now been transferred to the new company, Kingstonian FC Limited."

It means Ks can start on a completely new footing.

"It's a great relief for the club and me because I have been working on it since I joined in September 2001 and can finally close my file." The only question now is when chairman Rajesh Khosla will hand the club over to The Ks Trust?

Khosla is currently on holiday in India, but Richards said: "He will be back at the end of the month and reviewing the situation at the club will be high on his agenda."

An 86th minute equaliser for Bognor gave the team who were in third place before tonight a point that they didn't really deserve. Stafford Browne headed K's into the lead on 38 minutes, and the second-half saw several of chances missed.

Craig Lewington saw a deflected shot hit the bar, Stafford Browne went close more than once and a good shout for a penalty was turned down late on. Aylesbury had their own chances - having a late goal wiped out.
