Banstead Athletic 0-4 Kingstonian |
Kingstonian secured their biggest winning margin of the league season at Merland Rise tonight, making up ground in the table to move back into sixth position with a four-nil victory.
James Rose opened the scoring in the first half with a retaken penalty before Charley Side scored a neat goal to mark his first start for the club just before the break.
Banstead were reduced to nine men in the second half when Bobby George and later Alfie Bonso were both sent off for two bookable offences. K's furthered their winning margin in the closing stages with a powered header from Rose before substitute Mazin Ahmad scored from a corner with the final kick of the game.

Kingstonian 2-2 Cray Wanderers |
The fifth and final meeting of the season between Kingstonian and Cray Wanderers ended all square this afternoon. The visitors twice took the lead, but were pegged back both times by a determined K's side.
Mazin Ahmad scored both goals - the first a superb strike from the edge of the box and the second from the penalty spot after a foul on Kenny Ojukwa. Cray's goals were similar - the first an even better strike than Ahmad's and the second a penalty after Alan Hughes had fouled. Martyn Lee was sent off for violent conduct with half an hour remaining.

Leatherhead 1-1 Kingstonian (AET, 3-4 on penalties) |
K's prgressed to the semi-finals of this season's Surrey Senior Cup after another penalty shoot-out. The game was goalless after ninety minutes, but when Michael Brady was shown a red card not long after the start of extra-time things looked bleak.
Up popped Scott Corbett to give the visitors an unlikely lead, but the scores were levelled just a minute later. And so to penalties.
The hero ended up being Julian Sills, who converted his penalty - Kingstonian's sixth - after the third miss of the evening for Leatherhead. K's eventually won the tie 4-3 on penalties.

Kingstonian 2-2 Dover Athletic |
Kingstonian maintained their fine run of games, both currently in the league and historically against former Conference rivals Dover Athletic, with a two-all draw at Kingsmeadow.
The visitors took the lead towards the end of the first half when Julian Sills, under pressure from Craig Wilkins, could only manage a glancing header that looped over Jonty Venter and into the back of his own net.
Substitutes Kenny Ojukwa and Mazin Ahmad had an almost immediate impact as Kingstonian turned the game around with a couple of quick goals in the second period. Ojukwa neatly lifted the ball past veteran goalkeeper Paul Hyde before Ahmad converted a penalty given for handball by Craig Cloke. Shane Hamshare ensured the points were shared, however, with a low drive with less than a quarter of an hour remaining.
The line-up from today's match is now available. |
