Hastings 3-3 Kingstonian |
A dramatic game at Pilot Field saw Hastings take a deserved share of the points, thus denying Kingstonian an end of season playoff spot.
Scott Corbett gave K's, starting the day in 6th place, the start they were looking for with ten minutes gone before some sloppy play at the back allowed the hosts to hit back with two goals in quick succession from Daniel Williams and Russell Eldridge.
Tony Reid poked home a Bashiru Alimi free kick just after the half hour mark, but the hosts restored their lead five minutes before the break following a fine strike by Duncan McArthur.
The second half yielded just a single goal - a twice converted penalty from James Rose - though this proved insufficient for Kingstonian's quest to remain in the top six come full time. K's captain Julian Sills and United's Tim Olorunda both saw red after two cautionable offences apiece.

Bashley match report |
The report of yesterday's game is now available. |
Saturday 1st April 2006 |
Bashley 3-2 Kingstonian |
Kingstonian's five month unbeaten run away in the league came to a halt at Bashley in a game best described as scrappy.
Kenny Ojukwa opened the scoring for K's from close range in the 8th minute after a James Rose header had bounced off the bar, before Danny Gibbons followed up a strike which had hit the post to level the scores. The hosts proceded to take charge of the game and took the lead on the stroke of half time through a Paul Gazzard header.
Rose again caused the Bash rearguard problems, with Ojukwa taking advantage of a distracted goalkeeper to head home an equaliser. A hectic flurry in the K's goalkmouth on the hour mark, however, saw a couple of goal-line clearances before Gazzard fired home again for what proved to be the deciding goal.
