Phil Williams
Winger Phil Williams has returned to the club after completing his month loan at Godalming Town.

Manager Alan Dowson comments, "Phil needed a run of games so we sent him to Godalming where he's done well for them and scored a few goals (three in seven games). He's looking forward to being involved with us again and I'm pleased to have him back."

Jamie Byatt
Winger Jamie Byatt has left the club to join Corinthian-Casuals.

Manager Alan Dowson comments, "We'd only recently brought Jamie in so it's a shame but he's decided to go to Corinthian-Casuals as he didn't feel he could fully commit to us so we've got to respect that. He's got a lot of friends at Casuals from when he used to play there so good luck to him."

Cray Wanderers 2-4 Kingstonian
Kingstonian ensured that they will remain top of the table going into the new year, following a four-two win at second placed Cray Wanderers.

Simon Huckle opened the scoring in the 7th minute with a low drive, before a full stretch Carl Wilson-Denis doubled the advantage midway through the half. The hosts pulled a goal back from the penalty spot just before half time through veteran ex-K's player Colin Luckett.

League top scorer Bobby Traynor added a third for the K's in the 64th minute, sliding home from a tight angle followed a saved effort from Huckle. Wilson-Denis chipped in with a fine lob with ten minutes remaining to further extend the lead, whilst Leigh Bremner's late header was little more than consolation for the hosts.

Full details of the match are now available.

    Interview with Michael Mancienne
Kindly supplied by Paul Warburton of the the Kingston Informer:

KINGSTONIAN gained an extra fan this week - Michael Mancienne.

And its all because the Chelsea defender, who was the shock inclusion of Fabio Capello's last England squad, heard his first-ever club are now taking an interest in him.

Back in 1996, eight-year-old Mancienne might have been playing in the red-and-white hoops of the Ryman One South club a little longer had a Ks coach not also been on the look-out for Chelsea as well.

Mancienne remembers going to a Saturday morning kids' club near where he lived in Hanworth and being spotted by Peter Baxter.

"He had something to do with both clubs," recalled Mancienne. "He told my parents I would be good for Kingstonian - and I was very proud to be given their red kit."

Although Mancienne is on loan at Championship Wolves as a full-back, where he also starred for QPR last season, the former junior K remembers he had a different role as a youth.

"I used to boss the Ks midfield," he joked, and I would have carried on playing for them - at eight you don't know any different.

"But I must have been playing quite well, because at the end of the first season, I was moved over to Chelsea where I stayed."

But Mancienne was heartened by the Kingsmeadow faithful's new interest in him.

He said: "I'm glad my England call-up gave them some pleasure. I'll take an interest in how they're doing now.

"I caught sight of a table recently and saw they were top of the league, so I hope they get promotion as well."

    Update from Alan Dowson
Manager Alan Dowson says, "I've got to say a massive well done to the players, who've sold around 700-800 Christmas Draw tickets between them. I think it's very important that everyone does things together and for eachother at the club and this is just that kind of spirit so I'm very pleased. Thanks to everyone who's been involved with the raffle, but I have to single out John from the Maverick Pub in Chessington who has sold 300!

"We've not had any games for a fortnight so can't wait to get back into action. We've used the opportunity to get a lot of good training in. Martin ran them into the ground on Monday to work them up an appetite as it was off for a very nice team Christmas meal afterwards!"

"We hope to make it a good Christmas on the field too but have a very tough game on Sunday against Sittingbourne. They've got a great away record so we'll have to be at our very best."

    Adrian Blake
Goalkeeping coach Adrian Blake has been signed on to league forms. Adrian, 44 and a veteran of hundreds of appearances for the K's, will provide emergency cover for regular custodians Luke Garrard and Luke Naughton.

Manager Alan Dowson comments, "I wanted to make sure we're covered in case anything happens and it was a straight choice between Adrian and (Chairman) Mark Anderson. In the end I decided to go for the older more experienced man, and Blakey's got to be the second oldest person at the club behind (Secretary) Gerry Petit!"

    Dulwich Hamlet 0-3 Kingstonian
Kingstonian increased their lead at the top of the league table following a three-nil win at Dulwich Hamlet in this Friday night encounter.

Carl Wilson-Denis opened the scoring in the 13th minute when tapping in after Tommy Williams' curling effort had rebounded back off the angle of the goal.

The hosts were reduced to ten men just before the break when Stanley Muguo was sent off, and Kingstonian took full advantage to dominate the second half. Dulwich goalkeeper Jamie Lunan earned his man of the match award but wasn't able to prevent Jamie Byatt's low drive in the 82nd minute - the winger's first goal for the K's.

Simon Huckle made it three in the final minute when blasting home from close range after an exquisite cross by Liam Collins.
