Omari Coleman
Forward Omari Coleman has been released from the club.

Manager Alan Dowson comments, "I'd only got just Omari in, based on what I saw of him at the start of the season, but it's turned out not to be the right player at the right time unfortunately so we've let him move on and good luck to him."

Alan Dowson on Croydon
Manager Alan Dowson comments, "I thought it was an exciting game last night and again the young lads like Rob and Craig have done well, as did Clement James in particular.

A big plus for me is that Adam Thompson if back fit for the weekend and we've got a belief in the group that we'll kick on (and achieve our main target for the season). We've had a good crack at all the cup competitions but we can just concentrate on the league now."

Update from Alan Dowson
Manager Alan Dowson comments, "I know I've been in for some stick over the past week - and it's been a tough one - but we'll bounce back. I love this job but know like any other there are ups and downs. The fans have been great with their support of the team and after paying their money have a right to be disappointed after Saturday.

"We've got a good bunch of players and have had a steady squad all season but I've just been working on adding some quality with a couple of new signings last week and another still to come probably. I had an excellent defender lined up but he got snapped up by a Conference South side at the last minute yesterday."

Players released
Forward Julien Thompson and midfielders Jason Turley and Phil Williams have been released.

Manager Alan Dowson comments, "I've got to keep the numbers balanced so have had to let these three go. Phil's gone straight to Godalming but I've got a gentleman's agreement with Chuck (Martini), who I've known for a long time, that he won't play on Saturday against us. I'm sure Phil will do well there again, as well as the others at their next clubs and wish them all the best."

Dean Lodge and Omari Coleman
The club are pleased to announce the return of the reigning player of the year, midfielder Dean Lodge (21) from Conference National side Northwich Victoria, and also forward Omari Coleman (28) from Conference South side Hayes & Yeading.

Dean has played 96 games for the K's, scoring 27 goals along the way. His performances earlier in the season helped the K's to the top of the league, whilst also capturing personal accolades as an FA Cup player of the round.

Omari's spell in the Football League was cut short through injury and he has since been a well regarded player in the non-league game.

Manager Alan Dowson comments, "I'm obviously absolutely delighted to get Lodgey back. We were unlucky to lose him in the first place and I've been on the phone to him every other day since. I know his name has constantly been on everyone's lips and he loves the club so it's a massive boost as we get into the most important part of the season.

"I've also managed to get Omari Coleman who really shook us up when playing for Croydon Athletic earlier in the season. He brings a lot of strength and character and will be an excellent signing.

"I have to say a massive thank you to our secretary Gerry Petit who works tirelessly for us anyway, but in this instance in particular was busy all day and late into the evening."

Anthony Joseph
Midfielder Anthony Joseph has been released to rejoin former club Ashford Town (middx).

Manager Alan Dowson comments, "With the new signings we have to make some way in the squad and we'll have a sit down after the next game to make some decisions. In the meantime Anthony has gone back to Ashford and I wish him all the best there."

Alan Dowson on Ashford
Manager Alan Dowson spoke after the Surrey Cup game, "As always we put a team out who we thought would be capable of taking the result, and although we lost I thought the boys did well, in particular Tom Dilloway and Craig Mullen.

"We do have the most games left to play in our division so that was obviously a consideration. Hamsey had the rest of the players for a session back at the training ground, so they'll all probably turn up looking like Popeye now!"

Thursday 5th March 2009

Ashford Town (Middx) knocked K's out of a second cup competition this season, following a two-one win at Short Lane.
