Update from Alan Dowson |
Manager Alan Dowson comments, "After the excitement of the last few weeks I had a chance to sit down with the two Chairmen on Monday night to do some planning ahead. As usual with Mark and Malcolm, it was a good night and were already underway for next season.
"I'm really looking forward to it, as are my excellent assistants Mark Hams and Martin Tyler. Weve got the end of season do to look forward to on Saturday but over the course of the next couple of weeks will be busy talking to the squad and arranging games for pre-season." |
Carl Wilson-Denis |
The club is pleased to announce that striker Carl Wilson-Denis has signed a contract to remain with the club in 2009/10. Carl joined last summer and has since made 46 appearances, scoring 19 goals in the process.
Manager Alan Dowson comments, "Carl has made a big impact and enjoyed an excellent season. He's already had offers from two other clubs and wanted to sort his future out, so we're very pleased that he's chosen to commit to us." |
Where are they now? Arthur Crook |
We have been contacted by Graeme Crook from Australia, with an update regarding former Kingstonians in his family:
"My father Arthur Crook, played for and, I believe, managed the club in the 1950's while my mother Elsie was a die-hard supporter in the late 1940's & 50's. I wanted to establish a dialogue with the club and to let people who may have known them, or know of them, that they are both still with us, Dad is 89, Mum 77, and live in retirement in Adelaide, South Australia."
If anyone wants to get in contact with Graeme drop us an email and we'll put you in touch. |

Update from Mark Anderson |
"The victory on Saturday, amidst such fantastic scenes, must be seen very much as a work in progress and the first step in what we hope will be a successful period for the Club in the coming years", writes Mark Anderson, Joint-Chairman of Kingstonian FC.
"Malcolm Winwright and I both got involved because we believed that we could return Kingstonian to its rightful place in the pyramid. From the very sorry state in which we found the club, and with the support and assistance of so many, we have tried to create a secure platform from which Dowse and his managerial team can work their magic. What we have proven in the last three years is that the heartbeat of a football club goes way beyond the bricks and mortar of a stadium. It's about the people - our people - and their desire to help us in achieving our aim. We have one very fit and healthy football club which is looking forward with relish to the 2009/10 season." |
Anderson discount for supporters coach |
In order to celebrate Kingstonian's achievement in winning their league and to thank Kingstonian Supporters Club for their continued custom, Anderson Travel have provided the Supporters Club with a significant discount on the price of the last coach of the season to Ashford.
The Supporters Club would like to thank Mark Anderson and his company for their generosity. Discounted rates of £12 adults, £9 concessions and £4.50 juniors will be passed on to members on Saturday, whilst existing travel season ticket holders will be given a £5 discount upon renewal next season.

Kingstonian 2-1 Dulwich Hamlet |
Kingstonian secured their position as champions of Ryman League Division One South following a two-one win against Dulwich Hamlet.
It was the visitors Dulwich who opened the scoring midway through the first half, not when Stuart Myall saw his penalty saved by Luke Garrard, but minutes later when Scott Simpson struck.
The breakthrough finally came for the K's - playing in front of a 558-strong crowd and the league trophy - when Dean Lodge slotted home an 80th minute equaliser. A winning goal seemed almost inevitable, and it duly arrived with full power from the boot of Tommy Williams in the 86th minute.

Matchday stewarding |

A larger pool of volunteer stewards is required to achieve this efficiently, whilst satisfying ground regulations. The efforts of Paul Horsecroft and his current team are greatly appreciated, and they and anyone else who is interested in helping next season are invited to come forward.
Denise Turner has been appointed Head Steward for next season, to be assisted by Jon Turner, and she will be taking on this role following a formally recognised FA qualification in stewarding during the summer. There will be an opportunity, subject to sufficient interest, for all stewards to acquire this qualification at a later date.
If you would like to join the stewarding team for next season please register your interest with Denise or Jon either in person or by emailing stewarding@kingstonian.net |
