Alan Dowson on Ashford |
Manager Alan Dowson commented after the game, "I'm very pleased with the work put in by the whole team over 120 minutes, and there wasn't a bad performance out there. Tom and Craig again did very well, whilst the more experienced players like Max, Jason and NJ worked their socks off.
We were expecting young Dumer to be on the bench as he wasn't far off when we put the team sheet in but he got stuck in a traffic jam after an accident on the M25. That meant Blakey had to swap his goalkeeping gear to go on outfield when Anthony picked up a knock. It would have worked if we'd gone to penalties as he strikes the ball like a rocket!" |
