Kingstonian 0-3 Tooting & Mitcham United |
Kingstonian lost by three goals to nil against play-off rivals Tooting yesterday, dropping out of the top five for the first time this season.
There were chances for the home side, but Tooting were certainly the better side and deserved their victory. Even goalkeeper Dave King got in on the act, scoring the Terrors' second goal from a free-kick from within his own half.

Leatherhead 0-0 Kingstonian |
The local Boxing Day offering at Fetcham Grove failed to deliver any goals for the 403 in attendance as Kingstonian and Leatherhead shared the spoils.
In a game of few chances, Luke Garrard was forced into his only significant save midway through the first half when pushing a low shot past his left post.
Steve Goddard created the best chance of the second half at the other end, but a flying save from home goalkeeper Aaron France denied him, just as the awkward bounce that followed was to deny Jason Turley the conversion.

Matt York |
The club are pleased to announce the signings of midfielder Matt York (28) from Tooting & Mitcham United. York made 88 appearances, scoring 15 goals, for the Terrors since moving there from AFC Wimbledon in August 2006 and was previously club captain of Carshalton Athletic.
Alan Dowson comments on the signing, "Matt is a winner and a leader in the middle of the park. He'll get stuck in but is also an excellent passer of the ball and can break forward to score goals too." |

Kingstonian 1-2 Ashford Town |
A much-changed Ashford Town from the team who featured on the opening day of the season saw an upturn in their fortunes at Kingsmeadow, following a two-one win today.
Paul Jones slotted home the opening goal in the 21st minute from close range before a deflected Nick Rundell strike levelled the score just five minutes later.
K's thought they'd taken the lead midway through the second half when a mazy Neil Lampton cross was turned in to his own net by an under-pressure Ashford defender. The linesman however disallowed the goal for offside and the visitors made the most of it with twelve minutes remaining when Mark Lovell pounced at the far post for the decisive goal.

One loan ends and another begins |
Defender Aaron Goode will be returning to QPR on Monday following the conclusion of his three month loan deal. Meanwhile, Steve Goddard has joined the club on an initial month's loan from AFC Wimbledon.
Goode (18) has made 12 starts for the club, and despite missing the last three games with injury is available for Saturday's game if he recovers in time. Manager Alan Dowson comments, "Aaron has done really well for us and whilst I would have liked to have extended the deal, there is a new management team in place at QPR and so his return is understandable. I wouldn't hesitate in having Aaron down here again if the opportunity arose."
Goddard (21) has come through the ranks at AFC Wimbledon and boasts an impressive goalscoring record for the senior team with 12 goals from 11 starts. Alan Dowson: "I tried signing Steve in the summer and he's had hardly had a sniff in the first team there since so we've taken the opportunity to bring him down." |
Trio depart |
Left sided player Liam Cockerill, winger David Shin and striker Carl Gibbs have left the club.
Cockerill made 16 starts over two spells at Kingsmeadow this year, initially for a spell at the start of the year before rejoining in the summer. Manager Alan Dowson comments, "Liam has had a tough time with injuries and has been unable to reclaim his place in the team so we decided it was best we went our own ways so all the best to him."
Shin made 13 starts (plus 6 substitute appearances), scoring 2 goals, again over two spells, having enjoyed a successful loan spell from Woking at the end of last season before a well-documented return in October. Alan Dowson: "We did our best to help David on and off the pitch as he's had a tough time, and just when we thought things might work out he's having to return to Korea. I hope he has some better luck in the future and wish him well."
Gibbs made 3 starts (plus 4 substitute appearances), scoring 1 goal, since joining at the end of October. Alan Dowson: "Carl has had a few clubs recently and we're disappointed that he hasn't been able to settle with us. He's taken what he sees as a better offer from Leatherhead." |
Wednesday 5th December 2007 |
Tooting & Mitcham U18 5-3 Kingstonian U18 |
The final unbeated record in the Ryman Youth League disappeared last night when the Kingstonian U18's lost by five goals to three at Tooting & Mitcham.
Despite taking a second minute lead through Florin Ramizi, the K's conceded three goals before Tom Dilloway pulled one back just before half time. Tooting took advantage of some more slack defending to make it five with a couple of second half strikes before Dilloway pulled back a consolation goal at the end. |

Worthing 2-0 Kingstonian |
Worthing closed the gap on the leading pack following a two-nil win over the K's at a rain-swept Woodside Road yesterday.
Following a number of missed chances for both sides, Ben Johnson latched on to a whipped Matt Phelan cross just before the half hour mark to head the opening goal from close range.
The result was effectively sealed with around twenty minutes remaining when Danny Davis broke clear to slot home low past an exposed Luke Garrard.
